These are the courses we ran:

January 2007

Pool session Berinsfield
Session 1. £15 for a course of 3 sessions.

Sat 27th - Sun 28th January
4* Kayak and Open Canoe training (2nd weekend), River Usk
Continuation of course from November 2006. Accomodation venue to be announced. Assessment will be at Middle Wye on March 31st - April 1st.

March 2007

Sat 10th March
Canoe and Kayak Safety Test
Run by Philip Sowden and Rob Davies. Very useful for trip leading and prerequisit for Level 2 coach training. Cost £15. May well run to Sun also - total cost £20. Contact Dawn.
Sun 11th March
4-star training/assessment, Devon/Somerset (OCA)
A weekend of training/assessment, for the 4 Star BCU award.

Sat 31st March - Sun 1st April
4-star Kayak and Open Canoe assessment, Middle Wye
Assessment weekend for the 4-star course (training weekends were on 24th and 26 November 2006 and 27th-28th January).

April 2007

3-week course starts. Continuous assessment. Course fee £20. Meet 6.15pm Sea Scouts.
Sat 21st - Sun 22nd April
1, 2 and 3-star Open Canoe Course
Course fee £50. Assessment may be or not included in fee, TBC. Meet Sea Scouts 9.30. Finish 2.30 pm. Contact Dawn.

Proposed Beginner-1* course
This would give us a comparatively intensive course, of two evening sessions to learn some skills, culminating in a river trip (just around the cherwell etc) on the Saturday. We would need to arrange some kind of access to the shed etc, but this would give us quite a nice, short course. To get up to 2* level from beginner in this time might be a bit ambitious, but 1* is achievable.
